Or in other and simple words we can say it’s a feeling of nervousness or unease about anything such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe. it’s a normal healthy emotion but it might become a medical disorder if a person survives it on regular basis. so In this article, we learn about what is Anxiety its types and treatments?

Panic Disorder:

These are some sudden attacks of intense terror, and these are very severe attacks that even can lead to shaking confusion nausea, and breathing difficulties. after that, It may last for many hours and may lead to admitting in ICU. these attacks can be diagnosed if repeated 4 times a month. so Fear of dying and derealization are some psychological symptoms of a panic attack.

Phobic Disorder:

Phobia is a fear of a person so, it can be anything that means that a person can be phobic from anything g like water, height and losing someone, etc. So phobic disorder is diagnosed if the experience fear is intense and impairs his functions

There are some types of phobic disorders like:

  1. Agoraphobia ( fear of any place, event, or any situation from escaping is not possible)
  2. Social phobia ( fear of negative commenting or judgment from public or maybe humiliating)
  3. Specific phobia ( an irrational fear of any specific object)

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder:

It’s anxiety in which a patient experiences obsessions and compulsions. so, Obsessions are recurrent thoughts images that cause anxiety.

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder:

It is a disorder that may occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a severe traumatic event like rape and domestic violence or any threat that causes fear in them. so, this may be re-experienced for several years.

CAUSES:

Some possible causes may be:

Environmental stress: like family problems work issues and relationship issues.

Genetics: maybe it is inherited, may be patient’s parents are suffering from it in past.

Medical problems: like any kind of disease that is affecting it and may cause anxiety.

Examples of medical problems include:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Thyroid problems
  • Respiratory disorders, such as asthma
  • Drug misuse or withdrawal
  • Chronic pain or irritable bowel syndrome
  • Withdrawal from alcohol, anti-anxiety medications or other medications
  • Rare tumors that produce certain fight-or-flight hormones

firstly, It may include several or combinations of psychotherapy behavioral therapies and medications.

Self-treatment

The first, preferable thing is to treat yourself at home. so, several exercises can reduce your anxiety.

Stress Management:

firstly, you have to learn how to manage your stress level. after that do tasks to maintain that level and avoid such things that can cause your mood disaster.

Relaxing Techniques:

Many techniques are there that can help you to relax mentally and physically. firstly exercise can replace your negative thoughts with a positive one. secondly, you just have to make a list of negative thoughts and positive on the other side, just replace negative with the positive ones.

Support System:

The major support of any person is his or her family so, just talk to them they will be the best one to recover you from that situation. and you can share it with any other trusty person.

The best of treating anxiety is psychological counseling this can be psychotherapy or cognitive-behavioral therapy. after that any combination of therapy depends on the condition of a person.

This can be managed by medication as well.

These are highly addictive and they have many side effects, therefore benzidines are only prescribed to some certain people. therefore examples are valium or diazepam.

These are the class of drugs older than SSRI,s that provide benefits to anxiety disorders. so, this may cause side effects including dry mouth, weight gaining, drowsiness.

so, Imipramine is an example of these drugs. Some other drugs are also used for the treatment like

  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
  • Beta-blockers
  • Buspirone

Some medical causes that can be linked to anxiety include:

  • Thyroid problem

PREVENTION:

Always remember that anxiety is a natural thing that can be a factor of daily life, so, this is not indicating that a person is mentally ill if he is suffering from anxiety.

He just needs your attention and love and some care or medication if needed. so, According to doctors, you should follow some guideline for prevention like:

  • Stay active
  • Reduce the intake of caffeine or any caffeinated product’
  • Keep your sleep pattern regular it’s very important
  • Maintain your lifestyle and diet plan as well
  • Do exercise daily and don’t overthink any small issue.
  • Avoid alcohol or drugs
